Improve Software Development: An Overview of Program Synthesis

With the rapid development of China's aerospace industry, the traditional software development models are no longer able to meet the current and future development requirements of embedded software. In order to explore new and transformative methods for embedded software development, we have conducted research on program synthesis technology, which is a software development activity that automatically generates corresponding program code based on user intentions. We have summarized existing program synthesis technologies from three levels: specification, program search space and search strategies. In this context, we introduce the latest advancements in some of these technologies and provide an outlook on their future development directions. The application of program synthesis in the aerospace field can effectively improve the development efficiency and software quality of aerospace embedded software developers.
