Fault localization is an important step in the debugging process, as it targets to identify the root cause of failures in software systems. Despite the existence of several techniques and tools for fault localization, it remains a challenging and time-taking task. In this paper, we propose a method for fault localization that takes the advantages of reduced code examination in predicate ranking and the effectiveness of the Cochran-Mantel-Haenszel (CMH) method. We experiment using the exam score metric and demonstrate its effectiveness. It accurately identifying faulty program elements. Our work represents a significant improvement in fault localization compared to other important SBFL techniques.
