the Internet of Things has become an unprecedented technology that connects billions of objects and makes a wide range of applications. The substantial expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT) has surpassed the capacity of traditional routing protocols to handle the vast number of nodes. Consequently, the Routing Protocol for Low-power and Lossy Networks (RPL) has been created and extensively adopted in IoT networks. Traditional RPL are having static characteristics, however, it is less useful in situations where mobile IoT devices are involved. This article explores the challenges raised by mobility in IoT networks and a novel approach for enhancing RPL is proposed to properly incorporate mobile nodes in the network. The suggested remedy makes use of adaptive techniques to provide optimal routing while taking into account the adaptability of mobile IoT devices.
