This study explores the integration of augmented reality (AR) in online eyewear shopping, addressing the change in consumer shopping trends due to the rise of e-commerce. The paper focuses on developing an AR face-tracking tool for a glasses e-commerce site, utilizing a blend of CodeIgniter 3, A-frame frameworks, and the Zappar Universal Augmented Reality SDK. The research demonstrates that the developed AR face-tracking feature is compatible with basic browser requirements on various operating systems, including Android, iOS, and Windows. This innovation potentially enhances the online shopping experience by allowing virtual eyewear try-ons, aligning with the evolving digital consumer behaviors. The implementation showcases the potential of AR technology in enhancing customer engagement and decision-making in the online eyewear market. Furthermore, the study contributes to the broader understanding of how AR can be effectively integrated into e-commerce platforms, paving the way for more immersive shopping experiences in various retail sectors.
