In the rapidly evolving domain of cybersecurity, traditional educational paradigms often fall short in equipping students with the practical skills necessary to defend against real-world threats. This paper delves into a review of existing literature, focusing on the development of hands-on cybersecurity training that synergistically integrates both offensive and defensive scenarios. Recognizing the wealth of knowledge encapsulated in established community and private-sector technical certifications, we propose a novel framework. This framework seeks to distill and adapt scenarios from accredited cybersecurity offensive and defensive certifications, creating a holistic training experience. Furthermore, the adaptability of these scenarios to lab infrastructures, as suggested in prior research, ensures a seamless integration into existing educational environments. By bridging the gap between offense and defense, our approach aims to foster a new generation of cybersecurity professionals who are not only theoretically proficient but also practically adept in navigating the multifaceted challenges of the cyber realm.
