Optimizing the Controllability of Complex Network Systems by Changing Coupling Coefficients

Hui Li · 2023

How to control complex network systems is one of the research hotspots in network science. In recent years, much work has been carried out on the controllability of complex network systems. Inspired by the exact controllability theory of complex network systems, we study the optimization problem of the controllability of complex network systems based on adjusting the coupling coefficient in this paper. Our aim is to optimize the controllability of complex network systems by changing fewer coupling coefficients. A method based on maximum matching is proposed to determine the location of coupling coefficients that need to be changed. By comparing with random methods, we found that our optimization method can optimize the controllability of complex network systems to the optimal state faster and more stably. In addition, we found that the location of coupling coefficients is affected by the network topology. This work has a certain inspiring effect on further research on the controllability optimization of complex network systems.
