User Experience Evaluation on kompas.com Online News Portal Using User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ)

This study aims to evaluate the level of satisfaction of the mobile version of news portal website, Kompas.com. This study uses User Experience Questionnaire to measure attractiveness, classical usability aspects (efficiency, perspicuity, and dependability) and user experience aspects (novelty, stimulation). The respondents for this research were users of Kompas.com website, particularly the mobile version. Total of respondents used as research samples was 101 people. Results from the User Experience Questionnaire shows that the mobile website of Kompas.com falls into the Good category for Perspicuity at 1.059, Efficiency at 0.772, Dependability at 1.106, Stimulation at 0.874, Novelty aspects at 0.748, and Neutral category for Attractiveness aspect at 0.691. Meanwhile, the benchmarking result for the website of Kompas.com mobile version with the data that UEQ provided shows that Attractiveness at 0.69, Perspicuity at 1.06, Efficiency at 0.77, Dependability at 1.11, Stimulation at 0.87 aspects falls into the Below Average category, while the Novelty aspect at 0.75 falls into the Above Average category. This study proposes a new design to cover the weaknesses and usability testing has been carried out to test the new design with acceptable results and improves user experience.
