PMSM Inter-Turn Short Circuit Fault Diagnosis using EKF Observer and FFT for Sensorless Input-Output Linearization Control

This research focuses on the inter-turn short circuit fault detection of the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) using the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) observer as a linearization control without sensors. The Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) is utilized for the spectral analysis of electrical and mechanical properties during the fault diagnosis step of the fault detection procedure, which includes variations in the stator resistance estimation by the EKF observer. The efficiency of sensorless control and fault detection techniques is illustrated through a simulation in the MATLAB/Simulink environment.
