Semantic-Based Location Privacy Preservation Algorithm Combined with Knowledge Graph

Wenxuan Li, Hao Wu · 2023

Location-based services (LBS) are widely applied in mobile networks. However, when users enjoy the great convenience brought by LBS, they also face the privacy disclosure problem caused by LBS. It cannot be neglected that traditional approaches to location privacy protection are vulnerable to semantic reasoning attacks. To address this issue, this paper proposes a Semantic-based Location Privacy Protection (SLPP) algorithm that combines Knowledge Graph to enhance location semantic security. Firstly, the anonymous candidate set is generated by considering temporal semantics, location semantic sensitivity, and physical space distance. Secondly, the anonymous candidate set is refined by measuring location semantic similarity. Finally, the anonymous candidate set is discretized between locations to obtain the final secure anonymous set. Experimental results demonstrate that the SLPP algorithm can effectively reduce the privacy disclosure rate of users and reduce the overhead of the system.
