Maxwell's equations in terms of differential forms
David A. Burton, Adam Noble · 2024
It is clear from Chapter 3 that Ampère&s;s law and Gauss&s;s law are readily expressible in terms of differential forms and their integrals. Although any physical theory can be formulated in this language, not every theory can be expressed in such a concise manner. However, electricity and magnetism are particularly well-suited to this formalism. We will now take this discussion a stage further, and explore the general structure of Maxwell&s;s equations from the perspective of exterior calculus.
