Assessing the Stability of Time-Division Multiple Access (TDMA) Mesh Networks through Flooding Route Selection
Gergely Sebestyén, József Kopják · 2023
This research presents the stability of Time-Division Multiple Access (TDMA) mesh networks using a flooding route selection process. Within this framework, wireless mesh networks are formulated as graphs, wherein the network devices are identified as vertices and the established communication links among these devices are considered edges. By doing so, we introduce the concept of a ‘stability factor,’ representing the minimum number of redundant communication pathways in the network. Furthermore, the study highlights the importance of network redundancy metrics, which include the number of redundant connections between network devices and the count of redundant links specific to data transmission direction. The results from our study underscore the critical role of redundant pathways in enhancing network stability, thereby contributing significantly to the design and operation of more robust, reliable wireless sensor networks, specifically within the context of aggregated data collection procedures.
