Usability Analysis
Luis Adrián Zúñiga Avilés, Giorgio Mackenzie Cruz-Martínez · 2024
Through years of experience product development has led to the emergence of multiple tools to optimize the design process. Design optimization tends to generate solutions with a certain degree of uncertainty about the usefulness of the exoskeleton generated once it is launched on the market. Whereas the design is a balance between elegant solutions, described as simple, intuitive, and innovative, product innovation is directly related to the assimilation and adoption of technology as quickly and accurately as possible. Therefore, designers try to describe user requirements in as much detail as possible, and once a prototype is obtained, they assess whether it meets user requirements relative to the priority of those requirements. This chapter presents the usability analysis from the assessment of requirements to the evaluation of the usability of the exoskeleton prototypes in the levels of technological maturity in which it is found. The usability analysis results in performance metrics of the exoskeleton prototypes, which allow designers to get letters of satisfaction and, based on them, refine the design.
