This paper describes how Virtual Reality Technology can be used to enhance social and collaborative learning. Through individual interviews and focus groups with engineering students, this study examines the benefits and challenges of using Virtual Reality Technology for social and collaborative learning. The results show that Virtual Reality Technology can facilitate collaboration and learner engagement by creating effective social structures and promoting greater immersion in learning. However, there are some challenges that must be addressed for the effective use of Virtual Reality Technology in broader educational contexts, including the training of teachers and learners in the use of the technology and the need for ethical and responsible use. The recommendations made in this study will help teachers and learning programme designers to use Virtual Reality Technology effectively and responsibly.
