R. Senthamizh Selvi, B Aarthi Varshini, S Deekshiga · 2023

Image denoising is a technique used to remove noise or unwanted artifacts from the images to enhance their quality and clarity. Salt And Pepper (S&P) Noise is one of the frequent noises that appear in an image during transmission. The black and white spots in the image represents the minimum intensity values and maximum intensity values respectively. Survey of Min filter, Max filter, Mean filter, Median filter (MF), and Tristate Median filter are used to eliminate the salt and pepper noise is presented in this paper. For benchmarking the performance of these filters, we have used Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR), Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and Mean Square Error (MSE). This paper presents the comparative study of these filters to remove the S&P noise from grayscale images.
