The integration of immersive virtual reality devices into the architectural design process has accelerated recently due to advancements in software technology that can be readily combined and deployed with these tools. In other words, if you have a device that supports immersive virtual reality, you can easily experience your design by entering a virtual environment recreated based on the design during the design process. However, what is disappointing is that it is limited to simply exploring the designed space, so it cannot be evaluated that the performance of the immersive virtual environment is fully utilized. This is because immersive virtual reality technology allows for social and situational experiences along with spatial experiences. This study aims to develop immersive virtual reality technology that can be used in the architectural design process and evaluate its effectiveness. The immersive virtual reality technology presented in this study is a technology that allows experiences that involve social situations rather than simply spatial experiences. In particular, the space subject to the experiment was limited to an atypical architectural space to maximize the benefits of virtual reality space for experience. To fulfill the purpose of this research, the developed immersive virtual reality technology was used by architecture students, and the usefulness of this technology was evaluated through surveys and analysis.Through surveys and analysis, it was discovered that multi-user immersive virtual reality devices and technologies have several benefits in terms of creative problemsolving. This suggests that immersive virtual reality devices and technologies have the potential to be used as a tool to help architects discover new things and support appropriate design.
