Estimator-Analyzer of Power Quality Based on Space Vector and Instantaneous Power Theory

The paper presents some mathematical methods for evaluating the power quality indices based on the theory of instantaneous power and space vector. The main idea was to overcome the short comings of current power quality analyzers, namely sensitivity to fast fluctuations of input signal parameters. Based on the applied methods and algorithms, the device hardware was developed and the experimental results are presented in this article. The device has been tested with signals of known characteristics and also in the power limited electrical system (electric power system of a ship).
