Design and development of a biometric identification system based on IoMT for health centers in Ivory Coast

Health centers, when they receive patients, establish medical records in order to trace the ailments that are plaguing patients in order to better assist them. However, these files are for the most part hospitals, manual registration registers. These files must be unique for each patient without risk of confusion with that of another. However, in our hospitals, the registers are manual and change from one period to another and the doctors or nurses take turns regularly according to their program. As a result, patient follow-up taking into account the patient's history is not optimally taken into account. In our hospitals, no patient identification system is taken into account. Our goal is to enable healthcare personnel to take patient history into account in their diagnosis through a biometric patient identification system. We have set up a system combining biometrics and Internet of Things (IoT) which makes it possible to know the identity of the patient as well as information concerning this history thanks to the database management system which has been put in place. The system helps prevent patient identification errors, duplicate records, and prevents unauthorized individuals from viewing patient diagnoses. In addition, healthcare personnel save time when taking their temperature because it is taken within a few seconds by the temperature sensor. The fingerprint is the authentication element that has been implemented in our system.By combining the effectiveness of fingerprinting as an identification method with body temperature monitoring, this system offers a comprehensive and innovative solution to address current and future security and health challenges.
