Artificial Intelligence-Based Learning Approaches for Medical Imaging

Artificial Intelligence is the most debated and discussed topic in the field of the health sector, especially in the research of medical imaging. It has the power to process many medical images and uncover those diseases that are not appreciated by the naked eye. AI-based models such as machine and deep learning can recognize patterns that aid medical diagnoses. In fact, these learning models have outperformed human capabilities in most applications, such as computer-aided diagnosis/detection, prediction of diseases, segmenting images, image generation, etc. Hence, this paper discusses the role and significance of AI and its techniques, such as machine and deep learning models, in medical imaging. Besides this, the works of the researchers who have used these techniques to process medical images are also presented along with their challenges that still persist.
