In this research work, a review on recent optimization as well as an implementation towards DDoS attack detection in SDN will be carried out.Recently, the optimization algorithms are playing a major role in solving the complicated engineering problems with higher convergence as well. So, before the selection of an optimal algorithm, it is essential to have a compact review on the most appropriate recent optimization approaches. Therefore, a compact review has been carried out with the appropriate recent optimization approaches that have been introduced in 2020 to 2022.Among the discussed optimization models, the best one has been selected, and it has been improved for better performance in SDN-DDoS attack detection. The detection is accomplished precisely with the optimized Bi-GRU model that is trained with the flow-based features and statistical features acquired from the pre-processed data. The effectiveness of the projected model has also been validated through a comparative study.
