Backdoor trojan is a type of virus which its function is to exploits a vulnerability found in a system. The virus can either be installed into the computer system using software or hardware makers. In this paper, a demonstration is shown in steps on how a user can create a Windows backdoor with first creating a payload by using Metasploit in a Kali Linux machine and then executing the backdoor.exe files that was created, into a windows machine which is running in a virtual machine. So, once the backdoor is installed and executed, remote access is available for the attacker to access into the victim’s machine any time they want and can access the system’s resources and type system commands remotely from the attacker’s machine and install extra malware to the victim’s machine. For this demo, two machines are to be used that is the hacker’s machine that is the Kali Linux system and the victim’s machine that is Windows 7 system. The scenario on how this attack would work in real life, the impact of this attack, the general functions of this technique and the countermeasure on how to prevent this attack from happening is discuss in detail in this paper.
