IoT Technology in Industrial Application (IIoT) - Used in Monitoring of Control Valves

With the advent of Internet of Things (loT) technology, the possibility has arisen for devices of various applications to connect and share data over the Internet, whether in residential, commercial or industrial automation. In the specific case of applying “Internet of Things” in industrial areas, we find a technology ready to assist in monitoring and tracking the performance of various assets in industrial automation. This article focuses on the development of a microprocessor device created to monitor control valves with spring/diaphragm pneumatic actuators, commonly found in industrial process control installations. The proposed Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) device is currently being developed and tested in the Industrial Process Control Laboratory of Escola Politecnica of the University of Sao Paulo (LCPI-EPUSP).
