Proposition de correction du formalisme des paquets d'ondes et premières conséquences induites en Acoustique

This article begins by explaining why classical definitions of wave packets are problematic. We then propose a correction of the wave packet definitions, taking into account the spatio-temporal nature of the phenomena and the 2 to 4 dimension of the Fourier transforms needed to synthesize these phenomena correctly. We then review some of the consequences of the corrections introduced for the measurement of scalar physical quantities, using the example of pressure measurement in Acoustics: the need to use a spatial mesh of sensors; the paradox of the satisfactory nature of measurements at the target point alone; the relevance of using complex rather than monochromatic excitations.
