A Comprehensive Analysis of Exploring SDN-Enabled Honeypots for IoT Security
Anshika Sharma, Himanshi Babbar · 2023
For the Internet of Things (IoT) to provide reliable services, it is crucial to identify cyberattacks in these network environments and stop them before they disrupt physical processes. The management of IoT devices using Software Defined Networking(SDN) has emerged as an ensuring trend; the SDN is anticipated to be the next generation as an integrated and simulated system structure that offers unusual robotics, adaptability, and effectiveness. To prevent unauthorised use of computer networks, a honeypot-style device is set up. The objective of the current investigation is to review developing patterns in existing honeypot research in order to close knowledge gaps in the honeypot ecosystem. The results indicate that honeypots are drawing researchers’ attention as an important security strategy that may be used to prevent network attacks and offers a chance to find out more about the characteristics of these attacks. An introduction to security, a discussion of SDN technique and honeypot system-based strategies are all included in this article.
