Hyperlipidemia, which is considered as aprominentriskfactorforcardiovasculardisease(CVD) is characterizedbyelevatedlipidandlipoproteinlevels, poses varioushealthrisks.Owingtoconstraints associated with conventional medications, including resistance to treatment, intolerance to drugs, and inadequate adherence, the managementofhyperlipidemia often results in suboptimal orinsufficient outcomes, making successful achievement challenging. In lightof these challenges, this article explores the potential of dietary intervention, specifically the use of takra, to enhance the hypolipidemic effects when combined with pharmacological treatment. Objective:Theobjectivewastoevaluatetheadd-oneffectoftakra(200mltwicedaily)whengivenalongwithnavakagugguluinloweringlipidlevels. Intervention:EmployingaRandomizedControlTrial(RCT)design,theresearchinvolved60participantsdiagnosedwithborderlinehyperlipidemia.Thestudygroups,receivingNavakaGuggulualone(GroupA)orwithTakra(GroupB),wereassessedovera2-monthperiod. Results:GroupB who had takra and navakaguggulu both exhibitedsignificantimprovements,especiallyinserumtriglyceridelevels(p=0.01).Anga-gaurav,atinidra,andJaboparodhaattributesalsonotablyimproved(p<0.05).
