Eccentric defects and irreversible demagnetization fault (IDF) of the electric motor degrade the characteristics of the motor. Therefore, the eccentricity of the motor and the early detection of IDF are required. A position sensor of a motor for an electric vehicle has been using a resolver a lot due to the high internal temperature of the motor. Therefore, using a resolver, a fault diagnosis method for a motor that does not require an additional sensor is proposed.
