Recycling Application Usability Testing Using the Nielsen Attributes of Usability (NAU)

Muhamad Raffi, Erwin Halim · 2023

Indonesia is one of the world's most significant contributors to plastic pollution. The amount of waste generated in Indonesia has reached 72 million tons annually. Therefore, the recycling application is a tool to make it easier for people to collect plastic waste. The problem in this research aims to determine the Efficiency of Usability of plastic recycling applications. The method used for this research is the Nielsen Attributes of Usability (NAU). Also, the NAU model has five hypotheses tested using Smart PLS as a static tool. The data set of forty-three respondents was collected using Google Forms using the Purposive Sampling method in July 2023. Respondents came from the Jabodetabek Area (cities in Indonesia) and use recycling applications (Octopus). The final result of this research shows that the hypothesis is that four of the five factors have negative value results, and one factor has positive value results. With the results of all the data and models from this research, it is hope that it can inspire developers to develop their application even better.
