Environmental security is currently given less attention, especially in the community environment at the RT/RW level. This is due to a lack of communication and concern among the residents themselves, either because of their extensive activities outside the home, such as working in offices, factories, or fields, or even due to seclusion within the house, resulting in limited interaction with neighbors. These conditions have led to several environmental threats, including crimes such as theft, mugging, and kidnapping; social disasters such as fires; seriously ill neighbors in need of help; and incidents of Domestic Violence (KDRT). The purpose of this research is to develop a Panic Button application that can be implemented on residents’ smartphones to provide security services for residents experiencing panic situations. The method used in this study is the Extreme Programming (XP) method with several stages: planning, design, coding, and testing. The research findings show that residents’ smartphones are used as a communication medium with Mini PCs connected to speakers in the RT/RW hall or special locations to emit warning signals (according to the occurring phenomenon). The test results show that all the features in the application have been running well; this can be proven by the results of the questionnaire, which stated that 83% of respondents stated that the functions contained in the application were running normally, and 88% of respondents stated that they strongly agreed that application features made it easier to report incidents panic in the RT/RW environment, and 75% of respondents stated that the speed of incident handling could be handled by this application. Additionally, each user (citizen) receives notifications containing the incident’s name and address. For future research, this panic button application can run on the iOS operating system.
