This paper delves into the urgent demand for post-quantum cryptosystems, as traditional public key cryptography relying on number theory faces vulnerability from quantum computers. A fresh paradigm emerges with the introduction of a novel public key cipher system termed Polar Code-based Public Key Cryptosystem (PC-PKC). Grounded in the intricate nature of encryption operations within polar code constructs, the PC-PKC system establishes a resilient security framework. To substantiate its efficacy, the PC-PKC cipher system is practically implemented on Raspberry Zero hardware. Through a comprehensive evaluation of performance metrics encompassing execution time, energy consumption, and CPU utilization, a detailed efficiency analysis is unveiled. This empirical exploration underscores the PC-PKC system's superiority over the existing McAleese public key code system deployed on Raspberry Pi Zero. The assessment demonstrates the PC-PKC cipher system's supremacy in critical facets, including encryption and decryption execution times, as well as energy consumption. These results accentuate the potency of polar codes as a cornerstone for post-quantum cryptographic solutions, positioning the PC-PKC system as a promising contender to ensure secure communication protocols in the quantum computing era.
