A Comparative Evaluation of network Attack Detection and Prevention Strategies in multi model Cloud servers

Sukhman Ghumman · 2023

Cloud servers are often used in many areas, ranging from research, cloud computing, the Internet of Things and other data-intensive applications. The use of cloud servers has introduced many layers of security risks and the need for detection and prevention against cyber-attacks. Network Attack Detection and Prevention (NADP) is a critical component of any cloud security strategy. This paper presents a comprehensive review of relevant literature regarding NADP techniques in multi-model cloud servers. Firstly, the various types of cloud server models are discussed, along with the threat scenarios that could be present within each type. Then, an overview of the extant literature on NADP techniques is presented, including proposed solutions such as signature-based intrusion prevention, anomaly-based intrusion prevention, and traffic-flow inspection. The advantages and disadvantages of each technique are discussed, along with their applicability to different cloud server architectures. Additionally, the challenges and limitations in implementing NADP are outlined and future research directions are discussed. The paper demonstrates the complexities involved in implementing a comprehensive and effective NADP system in multi-model cloud servers.
