The Performance Analysis of Encryption Protocols for 5G Communication Networks

Saksham Sood · 2023

The fifth generation (5G) communications networks are the next generation of wireless communication systems. 5G networks will allow for unprecedented performance and coverage, while providing better data security through the use of advanced encryption protocols. Different encryption protocols, such as Transport Layer Security (TLS), Datagram Transport Layer Security (DTLS), and Secure Hypertext Transfer Protocol (S-HTTP),are used to secure communication in 5G networks. Each of these protocols has different characteristics and different levels of protection. In addition, there are specific requirements of the service provider and the end user that must be considered when selecting an encryption protocol. This paper provides an overview of the different encryption protocols used in 5G communications networks and describes the key features of each.
