Real‐World Applications of BC Technology in Internet of Things

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of gadgets that can gather and is used to help people make wise decisions. However, it is still not feasible to fully implement this technology in the physical world due to its complexity. One of the most common factors affecting this technology's implementation is the centralized client-server model. This method requires the connection of all devices to a central server, which can lead to a unique failure. Consequently, shifting to a decentralized approach for the IoT system is possibly the best option. Here comes the need to integrate blockchain (BC) with the IoT. Blockchain is a well-known distributed platform. The purpose of this research is to examine the present state of the art in the advancement of ledger technology and the integration of these with IoT. It also explores the various challenges of integrating the technologies into the IoT ecosystem.
