Upgrading and Updating Workstation Pro

In this chapter we are going to discuss the process for upgrading to a newer version of Workstation Pro. We are going to approach the upgrade as two specific different types of upgrade depending on availability from VMware. Firstly, as an update, or point release, to the version of the software you are currently running. By this we mean the version will be the same version number, that is, version 16; however, the point release will be updated. For example, you might be running 16.2.1 currently, and the latest updated version available for download is 16.2.5. A point release will typically add a couple of minor features or bug fixes.
