Comparative Usability Study of Extended Reality Arachnophobia Therapy Application: A Case between Arachnophobia-Afflicted Individuals and Non-Afflicted Individuals

The current paper conducts research on existing technology, which is an Extended Reality application (XR) that focusing on treating arachnophobia patients. This study intends to identify the usability of the application SephiaXR. The evaluation uses the USE questionnaire involving 20 respondents, consisting of 10 people who have arachnophobia and 10 people who don’t have arachnophobia. The results indicated that SephiaXR possesses strong usability aspects, with no significant difference in user experience between the two groups. According to the statistical analysis, there is no significant difference in experience between the two groups. Therefore, this application could be used easily both by users with arachnophobia and users without arachnophobia. The research contributes to the field by providing insights into the application's usability, offering a foundation for future developments in XR-based therapy applications.
