The work is devoted to the study of argumentation in scientific communication texts. The paper focuses on typical models of reasoning characteristic of text genres under consideration. The description is based on Duglas Walton’s compendium of argumentation schemes. Structural argumentation models are fixed using a system of related statements and a classification of these structures according to various adopted criteria. Four classification parameters are introduced: type of conclusion, persuasion grounds, ontological-semantic relation, and target of attack. The advantage of multi-aspect classification in comparison with a simple flat one is the possibility of independent analysis and use by annotators and analysts of various pragmatic and semantic aspects of the arguments involved in the argumentation schemes. In addition, such classification allows, if necessary, to add new classification parameters and values, to introduce missing schemes and classes of schemes needed to represent the argumentative content of texts related to the genres under study.
