Secure IoT Smart Health Monitoring System (SHMS) for Patients using Blockchain Technology

Internet of Things (IoT) technology is very hot area in recent days. The technology is now applied many of the applications like smart home, smart parking system, smart metering, smart health care and smart agriculture. Smart Health Monitoring System (SHMS) deals with the patient health condition and monitoring remotely while they needed the immediate treatment. That health monitoring system is continuously monitoring the patient health; communicate to the doctor, nurse and patients. That is very useful for the patient and also the doctors to reduce the tension, death rate and the valuable time also. Health Monitoring System (HMS) contain three functional layers such as Information Collection layer, System Deployment layer and Service Dissemination layer, that layers are used to perform the operation of the patient health. Many numbers of IoT devices are connected to the patient body and measure the patient body conditions (health). The system is providing the alert ration to the patient’ relatives and the doctors. So easily save the patient life and avoid the unwanted death. In this chapter, proposed Blockchain Health Monitoring System (BHMS) used to monitor the patient heartbeat, temperature, blood pressure and sugar level. However, security is a major problem for sharing patient health history, insurance claim and pharmacy supply chain. In this chapter, concentrate the security of health monitoring system. BHMS provide the security of patient’s historical information.
