Microservice versus Monolithic Architecture

Over the past decade, software development has been evolving rapidly to keep pace with technological advances and consumer needs. While custom development depends on one large code of codes, many applications today are built from a few applications or microservice, each of which is bound to have a single application functionality. Together they formulate a program called microservice architecture. In this chapter, we have explained the difference between microservice and monolithic architecture-based applications. The significance of microservice-based applications in DevOps culture is described in detail in this chapter.
