In an increasingly digital environment, operating systems have developed to prioritize speed, efficiency, and security in order to satisfy the needs of its users. The importance of operating system security increases as more sensitive data is stored digitally. The DICARe method is used to conduct a systematic literature review in this study. The DICARe stands for define, identify, classify, analyze, and report. Five research questions were used to guide the evaluation process, focusing on topics including publication frequency, source nation, study design, OS types, and security concerns. Following the research questions, the researchers located 55 publications that satisfied all requirements and addressed the distribution and security challenges that arose from those papers.
