Blockchain-Based Device Authentication Method in Industrial Internet of Things

One of the critical security issues for the Industrial Internet of Things is authentication. Most classical authentication and security mechanisms are centralized and often require another trusted party or large associated costs, such as time and computing power. This study describes a method for authenticating IoT devices in an industrial network based on blockchain. By ensuring full decentralization, the developed method allows to provide a high degree of protection against unauthorized access and forgery of identification data, while maintaining high performance and reliability of the network.
