Abstract: Reversible logic gates have emerged as a pivotal area of research in the field of digital circuit design, offering the promise of ultra-low power consumption. This survey paper comprehensively explores the foundations and practical applications of reversible logic gates. Beginning with an introduction to the fundamental principles of reversibility, it delves into the design of reversible gates, covering CNOT, Feynman, Toffoli, Peres, Fredkin gates, and beyond.
