Insurance fraud is a significant problem in the healthcare industry, with various types of fraudulent activities leading to significant financial losses for insurance providers and higher premiums for customers. Examples of insurance fraud in the healthcare industry include billing for services not rendered, falsifying medical records, and phantom billing. Centralized databases and weak security measures have made it challenging to detect and prevent fraudulent activities in the insurance industry. Blockchain technology offers a potential solution to these challenges by providing a secure and decentralized platform that can enhance transparency and reduce the risk of fraud. This research paper suggests employing blockchain technology for identifying and stopping healthcare insurance fraud. Our proposal involves a system built on blockchain that facilitates the secure exchange of patient information among healthcare and insurance providers. The objective is to enhance the protection and confidentiality of patient data while minimizing the potential for fraudulent practices.
