Performance Analysis of Clustering Protocols for WSN Assisted IoT Network
Ankit Kumar Gupta, Tarun Kumar Dubey · 2023
The Internet of Things (IoT) links several capabilities in a broad sensing domain, including sensing, communication, networking, or cloud computing. Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is the most appropriate infrastructure for Internet of Things apps to analyze the network. These networks suffer from drawbacks of excessive energy consumption. Energy-efficient Cluster Head (CH) algorithms are created with the goal of improving the lifespan of sensor nodes used for sensing. This research paper analyzes three clustering based protocols namely Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy Protocol (LEACH), Gravitation search optimization and Firefly Optimization and discusses their performance in detail. They have been simulated in MATLAB and their performance was analyzed following which Firefly optimization was found to be better among the all in terms of network lifetime and throughput.
