Decentralized Confidential Secure Certified Notification System Using Rejectable Identity Tokens and Identity based Cryptography

Mohsin Imam · 2023

The use of blockchain technology in various ecommerce applications, such as the establishment of certified notifications, has emerged. This particular service enables a user, assuming the role of a sender, to substantiate the transmission of specific data to a recipient. By leveraging blockchain technology, we can capitalize on its transparent and decentralized nature to ensure the genuineness and integrity of notifications. Our proposal is the deployment of Soulbound tokens (SBTs), which are unique NonFungible Tokens (NFTs) incapable of being transferred or traded to other users. Additionally, we enhance the ERC721 standard to encompass the functionality where the recipient has the option to decline a token, enabling selective acceptance of SBTs. By representing certified notifications as Rejectable SBTs (RejSBT), we establish a mechanism to monitor instances when a sender dispatches a notification and when the recipient acknowledges it, offering both non repudiation of origin (NRO) and reception (NRR) verifications. Once the recipient accepts the RejSBT signifying ownership of a notification, we employ Identitybased Cryptography to facilitate the owner's decryption of the confidential information encoded within the RejSBT.
