A review of Scalability Solutions in Blockchain-based Electronic Health Record Systems

In the context of the rapid evolution of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, blockchain technology has emerged as a potential solution to address critical challenges, such as security and data integrity. However, one pressing concern remains: scalability. Blockchains are known to scale poorly, which is critical in a healthcare management system. This paper conducts a review of scalability solutions in blockchain-based EHR systems, shedding light on prevalent limitations and underexplored solutions. Our findings underscore the imperative need for enhanced scalability solutions for more efficient and robust EHR systems built on blockchain technology.
