Can ML Be Used in Cybersecurity?

Cybersecurity is the activity of preventing attacks, damage, and illegal access to internet-connected infrastructure, including hardware, software, and data. This is a serious problem since hackers are increasingly targeting sensitive and identifiable data that is being stored and sent online. Machine learning can be used in cybersecurity. By evaluating vast volumes of data and seeing trends that point to security breaches, machine learning algorithms may be programmed to detect and react to cyber threats, including malware, intrusions into networks, and phishing attempts. Some examples of machine learning applications in cybersecurity include intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, and email filtering systems. In this chapter, we are going to present the study of machine learning used for cybersecurity.
