Seamless user experience is crucial to any web application that is used daily by users. Especially for authenticated users, that access protected resources. Today the OAuth 2.0 protocol is widely used for authorizing authenticated users to access a protected resource for a period of time. Prolonging that period of time without the need for the user to enter their credentials increases the positive user experience. For many businesses it’s required that a user can use multiple tabs in the browser while authenticated and rarely be asked to enter their credentials after the initial authentication. This paper proposes a unique approach for prolonging the period of time for authenticated users to access protected resources while using multiple browser tabs.
