In this article, we will present a new image encryption technique. This approach is an improvement to the classic Vigenère cipher. This improvement consists in generating two substitution tables of pseudo-random size. The first S-Box is used to install a confusion phase using a new substitution function. In the next phase, a not necessarily bijective substitution table is used to ensure the diffusion process in order to protect our cryptosystem from any differential attack. The results of standard security tests, on a large volume of images of different sizes and formats, clearly justify the robustness and effectiveness of our method.
