Use of Decentralized Blockchain Technology in the Routing Process for MANETs

The routing process in mobile multi-hop networks is one of the most important mechanisms that affect the robustness and efficiency of the network. The characteristics of MANETs imply that any mobile node that has the basic technical equipment required for data transmission can join the network and the routing process, however, a mobile node with malicious behaviour that intentionally prevents communication within the network by discarding routing and data packets can also join the network. Therefore, a mechanism for selecting suitable mobile nodes using blockchain technology needs to be proposed. This paper discusses the analysis of the AODV routing protocol with implemented blockchain technology in the routing process under simulated network attacks.
