A Critical Review of Spatial Domain Multiple Image Encryption Methods

At a time when image sharing is becoming more frequent and widespread, it is a necessity to ensure the security of shared images. Image encryption methods can protect shared images against attackers who may seek to possess images. Instead of encryption methods that can encrypt only one image, the number of multiple-image encryption algorithms that can provide security for increasing image sharing is increasing in the literature. This paper presents a critical review of the recently published multiple-image encryption algorithms. The inadequacies encountered in spatial-domain multiple-image encryption algorithms are emphasized in this work. Possible solutions and new approaches to these shortcomings are presented.
