Multiplier algebras

N E Wegge-Olsen · 1993

Abstract Since multiplier algebras occur in numerous C*-algebraic arguments, we devote a chapter to an overview of multiplier theory. In this book, the generalized index theory of Chapters 15-17 is formulated in terms of multiplier algebras. Also, multiplier algebras (or, rather, the corona algebras M(A)/ A) arethecentral objects in the study of classification of C*-extensions (Chapter 3), and these are far from irrelevant for K-theory.
