The Minimal Standard Model Lagrangian

Abstract In this section we give the explicit form of the Standard Model (SM) Lagrangian in the Re gauge (Fujikawa et al.1972, Yao 1973). We assume the simplest (minimal) scalar sector. The Lagrangian of the SM is by now a well-known quantity (Veltman 1994b) and, therefore, we limit its derivation to the essential points. Some special care, however, will be devoted to illustrating those points that are usually difficult to find in the literature, expecially those connected with the choice of gauge and with the corresponding Feynman rules in the ghost sector.
